Product information

This 1966 Martin D-18, serial number 211597, was recently acquired from its original owner. It was made soon enough after Martin's move to their new factory that it retains a small maple bridge plate -- a big bonus as it relates to resonance, punch, and overall sonic power. This is a very nice sounding guitar, with plenty of low end, and a fat, responsive quality across the mids and trebles which makes it a very pleasurable flatpicking guitar. An excellent choice for a bluegrass player interested in taking the vintage plunge!

This guitar remains in very good vintage condition. Our shop has reset the neck and re-fretted it -- otherwise, all structural components are original and intact. There is lacquer checking consistent with age to be found across its surfaces, alongside normal signs of handling and playwear. Playability is excellent; and the action measures 3/32" (bass side) and 2/32" (treble side) under tension of medium gauge strings. Priced with non-original hard case.
