Product information

Blame years of gigging one - and perhaps a certain British Invasion band - for our enduring weakness for Casino and ES-330-style guitars.

The Hollowbird is Josh Williams’ take on the fully hollow, thinline electric - living somewhere in that wide-open space carved out by the Casino and ES-330.

This one feels a little special though.

Why? We were going for a vintage look on this one - Royal Tan with a white pickguard - which is the first time Josh has done one this way, and he nailed it. It strikes a really cool balance: warm and vintage at a glance, but with just enough contrast to make it feel fresh. Simply put? It works.

If you’ve spent any time with fully hollow, P-90-loaded guitars, you know what makes them addictive. There’s an airiness and immediacy that’s hard to replicate. The laminate maple body keeps things focused and midrange-forward - punchy, warm, and lively - with just enough acoustic resonance to make it inspiring even before you plug in.

Through a clean amp, it’s articulate and open. Push it, and it compresses and blooms in that familiar, controllable way. (And yes - it absolutely holds its own into a cranked British amp when you want that edge-of-feedback thing. It’s a blast.)

What really stands out, though, is the feel. It’s lightweight, balanced, and easy to live with. The neck lands in that sweet spot - substantial enough to feel vintage-inspired, but refined and precise in a way that feels distinctly modern. Familiar, but elevated.

This isn’t just a nod to the classics. It’s a thoughtfully built, deeply playable take on a proven platform - and in this Royal Tan / white guard combo, it feels uniquely its own.

If you’re the kind of player who gravitates toward fully hollow electrics for their touch sensitivity and dynamic range, this one’s worth your attention.
