A Limited Edition run starts with a vintage platform and a short list of changes worth making to it. A neck profile from a year that never had it. A finish that was only ever mixed for one artist. Pickups and hardware normally held back for Masterbuilt and artist orders, applied across a whole run instead of a single guitar. Fender commits to a number, the team builds them, and then the run closes.
That last part is what makes these worth paying attention to. A build with an end date gets choices made about it that a catalog model never would, and those choices are usually the reason one of these plays like somebody finished it rather than approved it.
As the only Fender Custom Shop Showcase dealer in the Boston area, we choose which runs come here, and we choose the ones we want to play ourselves. Every guitar on this page gets a full setup from our techs before it goes out, and our staff do not work on commission, so if something else in the room suits you better we will say so.
