Legacy Collection
The Legacy 810e brings a traditional body shape back into the fold: the Dreadnought, arguably the most recognizable of all acoustic guitar body styles, which has more recently evolved into the Grand Pacific (a round-shouldered Dreadnought) elsewhere in the Taylor line.
This rosewood/spruce model channels the spirit of Bob’s earliest builds with room-filling volume and projection, complemented by the warmth and treble-range clarity players love in the classic wood pairing.
Like other models in the Legacy Collection, the 810e blends the modern with the classic, featuring today’s patented Taylor neck, traditional X-bracing and a straight-ear peghead shape that hearkens back to the company’s Lemon Grove days.
Features:
Bob’s easy-playing 12-strings helped put Taylor on the map, and the Legacy 855e honors one of his seminal models, featuring the classic Jumbo body shape in rosewood and spruce.
This 12-string model offers a playing experience unlike anything else currently available in the Taylor line, blending the warmth, clarity and balance of the rosewood/spruce tonewood pairing with blooming overtones and waves of gorgeous octave sparkle.
Players will appreciate the comfortable neck profile and string setup, which continues to distinguish Taylor's 12-strings as the gold standard of playability. This non-cutaway acoustic-electric is voiced with the X-bracing pattern that Bob used for many years.
Vintage design touches include their mustache-style bridge and straight-ear peghead shape, along with white binding, a three-ring rosette in green abalone, non-engraved Large Diamond fretboard inlays in mother-of-pearl, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard, nickel tuning machines, and a gloss-finish body and neck.
Features:
Another model that honors early versions of Taylor's enduring 800 Series, the 6-string Legacy 815e combines the power and presence of the classic Jumbo body shape with the richness and warmth of the rosewood/spruce tonewood pairing.
This model, voiced with traditional X-bracing, yields a bold response with chiming trebles and a throaty low end around a slight scoop in the midrange.
A modern Taylor neck offers a relaxed fretting feel with easy micro-adjustability if ever needed, while the classic mustache-style bridge adds a touch of old-school flair.
Other visual cues include white binding, a three-ring rosette in green abalone, non-engraved Large Diamond fretboard inlays in mother-of-pearl, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard, nickel tuning machines, and a glossy finish for the whole guitar.
Features:
One of two Legacy models celebrating the Grand Auditorium body shape that Bob Taylor introduced to celebrate Taylor’s 20th anniversary in 1994, the Legacy 514ce is sure to entice players who love the warmth and touch sensitivity of a cedar top paired with mahogany back and sides.
Voiced with the traditional X-bracing pattern that Bob used in the 1990s and 2000s, this model is updated to feature Taylor’s modern, patented neck design that optimizes playability and allows for easy micro-adjustability.
The appointments reflect the classic detailing of the 514ce for many years, including faux tortoiseshell binding with a matching pickguard, black and white top purfling, Small Diamond fretboard inlays in mother-of-pearl, a three-ring rosette in green abalone, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, gold Taylor tuning machines, and a gloss-finish body with a satin-finish neck.
Features:
Like its mahogany/cedar Grand Auditorium counterpart, the Legacy 714ce features a cedar top, but it’s paired here with Indian rosewood back and sides.
Voiced with traditional X-bracing, it serves up a richly textured sound with warm lows, clear trebles and exceptional touch sensitivity, offering a response that adapts effortlessly across genres and playing styles. Like its 514ce counterpart, this model features a modern Taylor neck with a comfortably slim, hand-friendly profile.
Visual details follow the sleek, understated style worn by the 714ce for many years, including black binding with black and white pinstripes, dot fretboard inlays in green abalone and a matching three-ring rosette, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard, gold tuning machines, and gloss-finished body with a satin-finished neck.
