For players who've always wanted the sound of a dreadnought with a more accommodating neck, this is your guitar.

The dreadnought is back in the Taylor lineup and we couldn't be happier about it.

The Legacy 810e is part of Taylor's Legacy Collection, a line that reaches back to the company's earliest instincts while keeping everything that makes a modern Taylor a modern Taylor.

The dreadnought body shape had quietly disappeared from the lineup in recent years, evolving into the round-shouldered Grand Pacific. The 810e brings it back in its original form, and with it, all the room-filling volume and projection that made the dreadnought the most recognized acoustic body shape in the world.

Rosewood back and sides, spruce top, traditional X-bracing, and a straight-ear peghead that nods to Taylor's Lemon Grove origins. It channels the spirit of Bob Taylor's earliest builds without sacrificing the playability refinements the company has spent decades developing.

One thing worth knowing before you play one: this is a short-scale guitar, which isn't typical for an 810e. What that means in your hands is a slightly easier fretting hand feel - a little less tension, a little more give - while the body still delivers everything you'd expect from a full-size dread.
