1960 Supro Lap Steel in 100% original condition with its original two-tone hardshell case! Valco-made solidbody lap steels remain some of the best vintage values in the lap steel world, with an undeniably cool aesthetic and a tremendous tone thanks to the iconic string-through pickups found on many of these Chicago-made instruments.
This bullet-shaped 23" scale solidbody Supro features a nice original white finish with a German carve top (just like it's electric Spanish brethren Dual Tone), black painted "fingerboard", and Supro badge on the lower bout of the body. The factory black molded pickup cover reveals an original string-through single coil pickup that is absolutely incredible sounding, complete with volume and tone controls flanking the strings on either side.
It's currently set up with medium gauge (13-56) nickel wound strings and tuned to Open D, offering some rich, deep tones into a clean amp, and some clear, singing overdrive when pushed - think David Lindley and Ry Cooder tones here.
Priced with original hardshell case.
