A truly wonderful example of the late 50s Supro Supreme lap steel in Red Pearloid (or Mother of Toilet Seat as it is commonly referred to). Built circa 1957 based on component dating, these are some of the most toneful lap steels out there. The original Valco-made string-through pickups deliver a distinct sound that's incredible for Americana, Country, Folk, and Rock, delivering rich, sustaining tone with great output.
This Supro Supreme is in great condition for its age, with all original parts including a nice set of Kluson single line strip tuners with the wide shaped tulip buttons. The acrylic fingerboard is set over a pale goldleaf-type underlayment material with black position markers. Original Dakaware volume and tone knobs provide some nice contrast against the dark hammertone finish of the pickup and surround.
These lap steels often used the older Switchcraft screw-on microphone instrument cables, which is the case with this guitar. We have paired it up with a brand new screw-on cable with 1/4" male jack so it's ready to use.
Priced with original hardshell case.
