Vintage-inspired Shin Ei SF-1 style fuzz with octave on/off and an expanded gain range - from gritty overdrive to full-throttle fuzz.

Inspired by a well-loved 1976 Shin Ei Companion SF-1, this fuzz takes that raw, unmistakable character and makes it far more usable for today’s player.

You’ve got two simple switches up top: Octave on/off (for when you want that ripping, harmonic edge) and a Tone switch that behaves just like the original, retaining that classic Shin Ei attitude.

Where this version really improves on the vintage unit is in the Fuzz control (labeled Expander on the original). On many old SF-1s, that knob behaves more like an extra volume control. Here, it’s been reworked to give you a true gain sweep - from gritty, pushed overdrive to full-on, splattery fuzz.

Flip the octave off and you’ll find a surprisingly versatile drive hiding inside. Kick it on, and things get gloriously wild.

It’s got the spirit of the original, but with a wider range and a lot more practical range on your board.
