Product information

The 1446 Model brought its tuxedo aesthetics and unique stylings into a professional-grade hollowbody electric that has made these one of the most desired Silvertones to date.

1960s Silvertone Model 1446 just into the shop!

Most famously associated with artist Chris Isaak, the Silvertone 1446 is widely regarded as one of the most successful catalogue electrics of the mid 20th Century. Its lustrous Black finish complemented by white/cream binding and plastics gave it quite the suited presentation, and the unique split polepiece mini humbuckers design by Seth Lover opened up a world of sound not previously accessible in a Silvertone.

This is one of the better playing examples we've come in contact with, and evidence of a guitar that's been very well cared for throughout its life. The guitar has a wonderfully round and full C carve neck profile that plays very smooth. The mini humbuckers are clear, bright, and punchy- almost Gretsch-like in its response.

Top geometry and neck angle are healthy, with nice break angle over the original bridge and smooth playing action with the original Bigsby vibrato.

Includes a very nice form-fitting hardshell case.
