The Rickenbacker Electro Model B lap steel has long been considered one of the best in its class, and it represents a period when the California-based builder was making some of the most sonically advanced and aesthetically captivating instruments of the 20th century. It's the first production solidbody lap steel, and is arguably the most famous.
This BD Model represents the later "Deluxe" variant often seen throughout the 1950s. The most significant change in this period is the change to a smaller 1 1/4" wide pickup from the original 1 1/2" wide pickup. Another unique feature of the BD is the hinged headstock cover adorned with the Rickenbacker "arrow" or "shield" logo.
Changes aside, these later Electro B lap steels are still fantastic instruments with the classic "Panda" tone.
It includes its original hardshell case which is also in great condition.
