The hardtail A-Type delivers a subtly different playing experience, cutting down on overtones often found with two-piece bridges and offering a refined, slinky feel.
Released to widespread acclaim in June 2023, the Powers Electric A-Type represents the culmination of Andy Powers' vision for the ideal electric guitar. Built around a lightweight offset Urban Ash body—in this instance a beautiful flame maple top—and a one-piece mahogany neck, this 24-7/8" scale guitar offers far more innovation than meets the eye.At the heart of the A-Type are custom in-house pickups, designed with a Faraday cage concept to eliminate unwanted environmental noise, ensuring a quiet yet powerful performance. The fingerboard is another standout feature, with a unique compound radius that curves more for the lower strings (E, A, D), while the upper strings (G, B, high E) rest on a flatter surface—providing both easy chord-work and bend-heavy lead playing.
