From our friends at Northfield, the Wavelength is a short-scale, A-style octave mandolin. If that sounds like the best of both worlds, read on! (spoiler: it is).
Responsive and dynamic, the Wavelength offers a comfortable left-hand experience for tackling fiddle tunes, while still retaining the string tension and low-end needed to excel in an accompanist role. This is the first Wavelength we've received with an oval sound-hole, and we're loving the warm and rounded voice, with plenty of low end and woody power.Mandolinists will feel right at home with the traditional tear-drop shape and familiar playing position, compared to a longer scale, guitar-bodied octave.
