This 1956 Martin D-18 is in exceptional, crack-free condition, with only a well-done neck reset in its repair history. Later 1950's Martin dreadnoughts sometimes get overlooked when compared to pre-war instruments; so we'll just say -- don't compare them. Love a guitar like this for what it is ~ a wide-open, killer-sounding, vintage guitar that cuts through a mix like ice water. This D-18's voice is crisp and clear, with power and focus in all registers. The action sits perfectly at 3/32" (bass side) and 2/32" (treble side) under tension of medium gauge strings.
