New for 2024 ~ the Martin Custom Shop D-18 1937! Based on the success of the style-28 Custom Shop Authentic models, Martin has introduced this similarly constructed style-18 guitar, which combines "Authentic" build features with an adjustable truss rod to provide players in search of tone and flexibility a powerhouse guitar. Martin hasn't had a shaded-top D-18 with Authentic features in their lineup for more than ten years; and we're excited to offer these instruments in our showroom and online. The sound has left the TME staff scratching its collective head: where has this guitar been for the last ten years, and what do I sell to get one? These instruments are bold, open-sounding, and gorgeously responsive up the neck, exhibiting the woody, clear voice you'd expect from a style-18 Authentic. Does the Stage 1 Aged finish matter? We think it does. In addition to its cosmetic appeal, the Custom Shop guitars with a Stage 1 Aged finish seem a little more lively, with more tangible in-hand resonance and fullness in the low end.
