We've had a good run with the 0000 models we've built through the Martin Custom Shop -- they seem to go the farthest in terms of satisfying players who want the playability of an enlarged OM but the power and throttle of a dreadnought.

OK, so you won't get exactly the same low-end wallop you'll get from a D-28 -- but you'll get pretty darn close, and you won't have a chore playing the guitar when you're in the mood for some delicate fingerstyle work.

In addition to the hand-picked Guatemalan Rosewood back & sides, we souped this instrument up with a torrefied (VTS) Sitka Spruce top, Maple bindings and a Torch headstock inlay. It's an extremely powerful sounding guitar, with plenty of lushness whether you'd like to play a more aggressive style of rhythm or tune down to DADGAD for Celtic instrumentals.
