We keep returning to the 0000 size when designing new guitars with the Martin Custom Shop--it's the closest we can come to satisfying the popular demand to pack dreadnought-sized sound into, well, anything smaller than a dreadnought. This handsome 0000, in Sinker Mahogany and VTS (torrefied) Sitka Spruce, will appeal to the guitarist seeking woodiness and warmth of tone whether the session calls for fingerpicking with a capo on the 3rd fret or banging out rhythm chords in the first position. The fundamental note is beautifully "round" sounding, and there's just enough shimmer around it to color the sound with cluttering it up. One word keeps coming to mind when thinking about this guitar: versatility. We struggle to think of a guitarist for whom this couldn't be a one-and-only instrument.
