This 1947 Martin 000-28 has just come into the shop for consignment! This guitar has been in our neighborhood for many decades, with the same owner, and has been very well maintained during that time. It's had one neck set, and the angle remains solid. This is a great-playing 000-28, with the balanced-yet-complex sound those in search of a vintage Brazilian Rosewood Martin are chasing. This is also a particularly warm-sounding guitar, given its non-scalloped bracing platform.
Condition: the structure remains all-original, with the exception of a new saddle, replacement bridge pin, and a partial refret. The body shows expected lacquer checking, and playwear down to bare wood on the soundhole and the top (near the pickguard). There are also a handful of small dings, none of which are inconsistent with the guitar's age. The finish on the back of the neck shows mild playwear and capo dings -- again, not inconsistent with age and usage. A strap button has been added to the neck heel. The original endpin is broken off -- we can either leave this as-is, or install a new one at a buyer's request. Priced with non-original hard case. On consignment; expedited shipping required at online checkout.
