Marshall 1959 Super Lead (c. 1970s)
Vintage
Here's a pretty cool one! This appears to be a Scandanavian export model 100 watter that had likely been built towards the end of the 60s and into the early 70s, with some cosmetic changes along the way to get it to present more like a true late 60s Marshall. In fact, the heart of the circuit was mostly intact, with very little needed from our tech Stan Day.
Like many export models, there's evidence of additional chassis holes for more speaker outputs that can be seen through the repro faceplates. Otherwise, the chassis itself doesn't show further modification. This Super Lead sounds just as it should, with a punchy, authoritative voice you can only get from a 100 watt Marshall. It's just been serviced by Stan Day, who replaced the bias caps, the cathode cap, and swapped out a few resistors. The power tubes were also rebiased. It's ready to rock!
**Please Note: All vintage amplifiers - regardless of service history - contain electronic components that will eventually require replacement or repair. This is often unpredictable and should be expected as a vintage amplifier owner. We are not responsible for additional service upon receipt. We also do not guarantee tube life.**
