Where the SSR earns its place is the same place a lot of reverbs struggle: distorted tones. Most reverbs designed for clean playing turn to mush the moment a drive pedal hits them, smearing the note into a wash of indistinct decay. The Silver Spring was voiced specifically to hold together with dirt - clear, present, and ambient without crowding the front of the note. It's primarily designed to sit after distortion, which is where it sounds most natural, but it'll also work in front of a drive pedal if you pull the wet/dry mix back.
