Product information

A natural-voiced digital/analog delay with an analog dry path and repeats that decay musically into the mix.

The Deep Blue Delay has been a quiet staple on a lot of pedalboards for a reason. Mad Professor built it around a digital delay line with an analog direct signal path, which keeps your dry tone untouched while the repeats themselves are voiced with the bandwidth and warmth of a tape echo rather than the sterile clarity of a typical digital unit.

What we keep coming back to is how the repeats decay. Each echo loses a little high end and a little presence in a way that feels like it's interacting with what you're playing, rather than just stacking copies behind it. The first reflection is carefully tuned - that's the repeat your ear locks onto - and the trail folds into the mix instead of crowding it.

It also handles the hardest test for any delay: distortion. The Deep Blue holds together with dirt in front of it or after it, where a lot of delays smear or get muddy. On clean tones, that same restraint means the repeats sit in the right place without dominating the signal.

Four controls - level, repeats, delay time, and a clean dry path that's always on. Useful for slap and rockabilly at the short end, country and ambient leads in the middle, and longer dotted-eighth territory at the top.

A go-to recommendation for players who want a delay that disappears into the music.
