This Retro VT knocked us right out. It's beautiful, slightly modern looking, practically plays itself, and sounds amazing!

Why We Love This

As you'd imagine, we see our share of amazing instruments here at the shop. Tough job, we know - especially since we spec a lot of the guitars we stock (this incredible Grosh Retro VT being one). That said, you can still be caught off guard by just how good these guitars are when they arrive at the shop.

First things first, we're looking at a 7lbs 1oz (!) Mahogany body, Maple neck, Indian Rosewood fingerboard (sans fret markers, alway hep in our book) Tele-inspired solid body with cream covered Grosh G90 pickups w/matching cream colored headstock, a short scale, 10" radius, and a simple volume/tone/3-way control setup. While our pics show just how beautiful this guitar is (Don picked a gorgeous piece of Mahogany for this one, thank you Don!), it's still somehow even more beautiful in person.

Okay, specs aside....this guitar is remarkable in so many ways. The feel is alive, responsive, solid, resonant, slinky...etc....the fretwork delivers an effortless playing experience when paired to the ultra-comfy Medium/Large Roundback neck carve and satin finish....but the tones and sustain from this guitar? Incredible. Keep in mind, this is a bolt-neck guitar, yet, it sustains like a 50s Les Paul (no, we're not kidding). We've always loved Don's G90 pickups which are in the P90 family, but are more balanced than a typical mid-heavy P90 and the top-end is a little sweeter.
