The Roasted Pine Deltajet is a modern classic reimagined, showcasing Don Grosh’s eye for detail and dedication to innovation.
Grosh’s updated Deltajet nods to the Electrajet lineage with a new pickguard outline, vintage-style truss rod (like those on NOS models), and a larger headstock that feels both familiar and new. The Timeworn finish lends a gently aged look, giving this guitar a welcoming, vintage‑inspired vibe right from the start (it doesn't hurt that we asked Don to build this one in the style of a blackguard Tele, right?).
A roasted pine body brings an airy, chimey character - warm and clear - while Don’s own hand‑wound G‑90 pickups and a dialed‑in setup provide a wide tonal palette and easy playability. On the question of a pine body's tone, Don said:
"I’m finding the Roasted Pine has a wide range of tone. It is super responsive & expressive to your right hand pick attack and dynamics. They have a bunch of sustain as well, which I was surprised about, being they are light weight. I would say the bass frequencies of these are a bit more looser sounding, than Alder or Ash. This added to the overall uniqueness in these sounding different, with their own sonic thumbprint."
