Greco FV-900 (1977)

This 1977 Greco FV-900 is widely considered one of the very best versions of Gibson's fabled Flying V model, and represents one of the finer Japanese crafted electrics from the early days of overseas Gibson and Fender style guitar production.
Though quite different in wood makeup and construction, the overall aesthetic is well executed, and even moreso with this particular guitar. There's no Korina here, but the multi-piece Ash body has a nice ambered finish that gets a little Korina-adjacent in its look. The 3-piece Maple neck reminds us of many of the 70s Gibsons, and it's capped with a nice chocolatey Rosewood fingerboard to boot. The guitar has undergone some changes over the years, in what we'd describe as a way to "Gibsonize" the build. The original bridge (included) was swapped out for a repro ABR-1, the original tuners (included) swapped for vintage Kluson style machines with tulip buttons, original knobs (included) swapped for black bonnet knobs, and some additional surgery to the input jack to relocate it to the more historically accurate location used by Gibson.
All told, it's free of headstock breaks and the guitar is a truly wonderful player. Should the next owner want to restore it back to true Greco factory spec, almost everything is included to do so. We'd argue the new input jack location is a major improvement over the original, which was tucked on the side edge of the treble wing.
This FV-900 is a total blast to play. Light, resonant, and ready for the stage, it's one of the bet "lawsuit" Grecos going.
