TME is excited to offer this excellent-sounding 1951 Gibson SJ-200 for sale! As you can likely tell from the main thumbnail photo, this guitar has been played; and its cool factor is simply undeniable. The J-200's association with so many legendary artists can almost hypnotize you into playing a familiar tune the moment you pick one up ~ and when that inevitably happens, you realize immediately why those artists were drawn to these guitars. Its seriously attractive looks aside, the J-200 is an ideal rhythm guitar, exhibiting a woody voice that's equal parts compressed warmth and brilliant high end at once. This particular guitar is no exception to the rule; and if anything, it's more responsive and open-sounding than many other J-200's we've encountered thanks to the hours logged on it.

Condition: we rate this SJ-200 in good overall condition for a vintage flattop. The playwear on the guitar's soundboard exposes some areas of bare wood, but the guitar's structure is 100% sound. There is one repaired side crack (treble side), which is tight & stable. The guitar has had a partial refret (the first 6 were replaced some time ago). Our shop has installed a new saddle and performed a complete setup. The guitar plays cleanly and sounds, as we've mentioned already, GREAT! Priced with its original hard case and a contemporary Epiphone case.
