What's better than a killer vintage Gibson? How about one that's been meticulously dialed in and restored by one of the best luthiers in game?!

We're blown away by the tone and feel of this 1968 Gibson SG Custom. This triple-pickup "large guard" SG has all of the period appointments of Gibson's 'Custom' trim, including the multi-ply headstock binding, ebony fingerboard with large pearl block inlays, and gold-plated hardware.

Famed small-shop luthier Laurent Brondel has taken this late 60s solidbody to new heights, shedding its prior player-grade skin for a freshened up player-ready piece that retains all of the critical vintage components us vintage nerds always like to see. This particular guitar includes its original pickups, original ABR-1 bridge and Lyre Vibrola tailpiece w/ arm, and original pickguard. Laurent refretted the neck to perfection with Jescar 51100 fret wire and installed repro aged Kluson waffleback tuners. The original pots were replaced with period 1964 CTS 500k pots while keeping the remainder of the harness intact, and a new set of nylon bridge saddles were installed.

In somewhat common/typical fashion, this SG experienced some very minor stress fractures at the neck joint, all of which have been attended to in order to ensure stability. It's 100% stable and vetted by Laurent and our staff here. There's evidence of some light overspray atop the original Walnut finish, just on the back of the body. All that being said, it's functioning perfectly and sounding incredible with the late Pat # T-Top pickups.

SG Customs aren't nearly as common as their Standard and Special counterparts, and they offer something quite unique in terms of their spec. This one truly needs nothing but a set of hands to put it to work.
