Product information

This one-owner 1947 Gibson LG2 would be a fantastic choice for anyone contemplating a first vintage guitar. It's beautiful-sounding: warm, crisp, and woody all at once, with an easy-feeling, tangible response in-hand. We love the versatility a great LG2 offers. They're terrific old-time backup guitars; they make great small-bodied flatpickers; and they're terrific vocal-accompaniment guitars for singer-songwriters as well. This particular guitar certainly conforms to that description. And it's a particularly good-looking LG2, in crack-free shape with only minor adjustments ever made to its structure.

Our shop has just refretted the fingerboard and replaced the original tuner buttons (some were missing when the guitar came to us, the rest were in various stages of crumbling). The nut and saddle are older well-made replacements. The action sits at 3/32" (bass side) and 2/32" (treble side) under tension of light-gauge strings. Priced with a non-original hard case. A current shop favorite, given its lovely sound and aura!
