One strum of this '54 and you'll understand why these mid 50s LPs are so coveted

Les Paul Models of 1954 have rightfully earned their place among the hierarchy of electric guitar design. It's not news to most folks who know vintage guitars- particularly Gibsons- but that doesn't mean we're not going to celebrate them any time they come through. And this guitar?? You better believe it's cemented its place in a long list of great old LPs.

Some might call the old top refin charming, and others may balk at the aesthetic. Sure it's got an element of DIY to it, but the oxidation tells us it's been like this for some time. The rest of the body and neck, however, maintain their original finish with a hint of overspray likely done to help blend in the top refin.

The pickups are an original set of P90s, and they sound absolutely phenomenal in this guitar. Sweet and chimey into a clean amp, with all the bark and snarl you'd ever want into a gained up amp. Super dynamic with great output. The wiring harness consists of a set of vintage 500k IRC pots from a '52 LP (dated to the 18th week of that year) with a pair of modern tone caps. Although obviously not original to the instrument, they're in keeping with the proper spec of an LP of this era.

The guitar is outfitted with repro Kluson tuners (4 original tuners included along with two other vintage Klusons), repro pickup covers (original short covers included), a MusicCity Savvy bridge and studs for optimal intonation stability, and sustain, and MojoAxe vintage spec long bushings. A refret was performed some time ago with nice profile medium vintage wire (similar to a Jescar 47095), and the guitar is set up beautiful with amazing playability and feel.

The original 4-latch Lifton case is included, and in nice shape for its age.
