The only thing cooler than a vintage Gibson electric is a vintage Gibson electric...with a TV finish!

Really, though. Nothing really says quintessential 50s Gibson quite like an original TV-finished solidbody. This 1958 Les Paul Junior sports its factory TV finish that has mellowed slightly to an ambered yellow, splitting the difference between the earlier wheat-colored TV finishes and the bolder yellow finishes that tend to follow from 1959-1961.

Like many Gibson electrics built in 1958, this TV Junior features a nice full C neck carve that has a leaner taper than most, but still has that round profile that's super comfortable to play regardless of position. It's a nice light example coming in at 7lb 3oz, and balances quite well. It has certainly seen some play time over the years as evidenced by lacquer checking, nicks, scratches, and dings, as well as a few fret dressings. 

The original dogear P90 comes in just under 8k DCR and delivers that classic Junior sound - bright, chimey, with some great upper midrange cut. This guitar has a particularly brighter and more open voice than some of the other vintage Juniors we've had our hands on. It has a tele-like clarity about it, which gives it even greater range on the tone knob.

It's got a few changes that were likely made to sustain a higher level of playability and function. The guitar has a replaced buttons on the original set of Kluson single line tuners that work very well, along with a replaced nut. The original wraparound bridge has some severe grooving/notches that make intonation and playability very tricky, so we installed a MojoAxe wraparound tailpiece that has beautifully restored the guitar's tone and functionality. The original bridge will be included with the sale. The input jack plate also appears to be a replacement and has a couple of newer screws holding it on - certainly one of the more common changes as input jacks would often crack or split in various spots.

Changes aside, it's a great TV Junior with an original finish, factory electronics, and no breaks or repairs.
