1976 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe with original Goldtop finish just into the shop!
This is great sounding example of a transition LP Deluxe as Gibson just started building their guitars with 3-piece Maple necks as a substitute to the 3-piece Mahogany they adopted at the end of 1969. With its pair of original mini humbucker pickups, the LP Deluxe leans a little closer to some of the Fender tones in terms of clarity and attack. It's a wonderful marriage of sound and feel that is unique to this era of Gibson.
The guitar has remained mostly original since it left the factory, with the exception of a refret that was just performed in our shop by Glenn Nichols. It features all original electronics and plastics as well, with original CTS pots dating to late January of '76.
The guitar is set up with nice medium-low action and plays great! The Maple neck seems to impart a surprisingly more mellow or rounder overall tone to the guitar too, without compromising on clarity.
Priced with original Gibson hardshell case.
