Gibson Les Paul Custom, Silverburst (1978)
LP-Style · Vintage
This is the first original Silverburst LP Custom we've had in the shop, and it's setting a high mark without question! The condition is superb, the playability is spot on, and the tone is everything you'd expect from a great LP from this era.
With its popularity having increased dramatically over the last handful of years thanks to the likes of Tool's Adam Jones, the Silverburst LP has carved out its own place in Gibson lore. It also happens to be a first-year example! Featuring its original pair of Patent # humbuckers, it provides a great balance of clarity and definition, with a strong fundamental attack that comes in handy through a cranked amp. An obvious choice for rock, it sounds equally great into a clean amp like a Deluxe Reverb.
The neck is reminiscent of Gibson's mid 60s neck carve, starting out as a slimmer C shape and filling out to more of a late 50s profile with a chunky taper. The original frets show some light play wear, but playability remains great.
Paired with Gibson Protector case.
