1970 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty just in!

Just like an old house - if it's got good bones, it'll last a lifetime. The same can be said for this old hoss.

When this LP Custom first came into the shop (a local guitar by the way), we weren't quite sure what to make of it. First, it had an old but very pro headstock repair. Second, nearly the parts were changed out. All that remains is the original toggle switch ring, truss rod cover, and back plates. But the bones are there, and they're truly great. This guitar does the thing you want it to, without even plugging it in. Therein lies the potential... We tasked our repair shop with giving it the proper attention it needed, which primarily consisted of a refret and removal of some ancient toggle switches that were strangely never wired up. We also decided to plug those old switch holes, too.

The aftermarket bridge and tailpiece were not befitting of the guitar, so we outfitted it with the great Faber ABR-1 and lightweight stopbar which greatly improved the guitars response and tone. The Seymour Duncan pickups that it was loaded with have stayed, as they sound great in the guitar. Same goes for the nice Mojotone wiring harness that the thoughtful prior owner installed.

For those players who want a great old Les Paul Custom with old wood and a chunky neck, it's hard to imagine skipping over this one. For less than the price of a used Murphy Lab LP, you've got yourself a 55 year old guitar that looks, sounds, and plays incredible.

**NOTE: This guitar is being sold as-is and is excluded from our standard approval period. Please ask any and all questions prior to purchase.**
