This 1935 Gibson L-00 has recently come into the shop on trade. It's a great-looking example of the darker black-and-orange sunburst Gibson moved to after the more closed-in 'bursts seen in 1934. We're also fans of this particular shade of dark burgundy back & side stain -- coupled with the top-binding-only aesthetic, the look just screams "1930's Gibson." The guitar is resonant & responsive, with the bright, woody honk & chime that keeps fingerstyle players flocking back to vintage L-00. It also sounds wonderful when flatpicked, exhibiting great balance, punch, and a nice low-string growl as well.

We'd call the overall condition "very good" for a 1930's guitar. There's plenty of expected lacquer checking and play / handling wear in the form of scratches, scrapes, dings, etc. There's one small back crack, which has been glued and stabilized. Our shop performed a neck reset; and the action is set at the standard 3/32" (bass side) and 2/32" (treble side). Playability is easy, no matter the style; and the full, V-shaped neck feels great in the hand. Priced with non-original, though cool in its own right, 1960's hardshell case.
