This 1964 Gibson J-50 has just come into the shop on trade! It's in exceptionally nice shape, and provides anyone looking for a wide-neck (i.e. 1 11/16") example of a 60's Gibson an excellent opportunity. Exhibiting excellent balance of tone, alongside the expected, woody thump and string-to-string separation, this J-50 sounds lovely whether strummed or flatpicked; and it's got enough power and snap in the high end for single note flatpickers who dig in with an aggressive right hand.
Condition: vintage excellent. You'll find the expected lacquer checking, and some scattered dings and scratches; but for a 60-year-old guitar, this one is amazingly clean. All hardware and structural components are original. The guitar has been freshly setup in our shop, and is priced with a Gator ABS hard case.
