SINCE 1968Still independent
This 1960 Gibson J-45 was recently acquired from the estate of its second owner, who bought it sometime in the mid-1960's. It might be our favorite looking 60's J-45 to come through the shop: lots of sunny days and long nights around the campfire have mellowed its Cherry Sunburst finish to a darker Amber. And the subtle wear on the soundboard suggests a musical life well-lived so far ~ with many more songs yet to be played.

The voice of this particular J-45 is warm, wide-open, and hollow. It's not quite as compressed as your typical J-45 from this era; and it offers a bit more sustain and dryness. It's especially well-suited to a singer who likes to fingerpick in support of their vocals.

We'd give it a rating of "Good" on the overall condition meter. There are several repaired back cracks. The bridge has been reglued. And our shop has just refretted it. It plays nicely everywhere on the fingerboard; and it's also worth noting that this guitar's neck is on the slim side.

Priced with hardshell case.
Condition: Vintage. Fully inspected and set up by TME staff before it ships or leaves the showroom.
