Gibson J-45 Mahogany Top (1944)
Vintage
While it's more warm-sounding than a Spruce-topped variant of the model, this J-45 doesn't lack anything in the way of power.
This great-sounding "Banner" era Gibson J-45 features rare, all-Mahogany construction (it seems like the bridge and fingerboard are the only wooden parts of this guitar NOT made from Mahogany). What's more, the top and back are one-piece, giving the instrument a striking aesthetic that looks amazing under its warm tobacco sunburst. The inside of this guitar is as clean as an old Gibson gets (insert your own joke here): all bracing is original and intact, and the original bridge plate is in fantastic shape. The guitar has been refretted, and the tuner buttons have been replaced, but otherwise the instrument is in fantastic condition.
And it bears repeating that this is a great-sounding guitar. While it's more warm-sounding than a Spruce-topped variant of the model, it doesn't lack anything in the way of power. And its voice for fingerstyle vocal accompaniment is sublime. Priced with modern hardshell case.
