This 1963 Gibson F-25 Folksinger was just acquired from its original owner, who purchased it dreaming of becoming the next Joan Baez but ultimately retired the guitar after the hustle of daily life got in the way. Does it surprise you a little that we're so excited about the sound of this guitar? It surprises us! But perhaps it shouldn't. This is, after all, a 60-year old guitar made from old-growth tonewoods and built with hide glue. It exhibits a clear, woody voice, with impressive low end for its body size. This would make a great recording guitar for any disciples of Jackson Browne's fingerstyle approach.

We didn't have to do much to this guitar when it was brought into the shop. The saddle in the guitar was quite tall, so we lowered it to reduce the break angle slightly. The setup is still spot-on, with action at 3/32" (bass side) and 2/32" (treble side) under tension of light gauge strings. Priced with a 1960's chipboard case (as folksy as it gets!).
