Gibson ES-335TD Cherry (1965)
Semi-Hollow · Humbuckers Pickups · Vintage
This early 1965 Gibson ES-335TD just came in and has left us completely stunned. Not only is the condition absolutely insane, but it's got a factory wide nut along with a beautiful playing mahogany neck.
Do we really need to say more about this time capsule?! Really?!
Ok, well we can put some focus on the sound, since that part of the equation matches the condition. These original and untouched Patent # humbuckers are just like their late PAF-spec brethren, except with chrome plated covers that were brand new additions to Gibson's pickups in 1965. It's tied to an untouched CTS harness and in perfect working order. These pickups - as you might expect - are textbook mid 60s in their tone. Punchy and stout but with the airiness and clarity that complements the voice of a 335 so well. When the acoustic and electric energies of great 335s and their respective pickups, they seem almost limitless in their sound. The guitar includes its original Lifton hardshell case (also incredibly clean) along with the original paperwork. It's a true Gibson treasure, and would easily scratch a collector's itch while also leading the pack in a player's stable who wants a lifetime 335.
