1968 Gibson ES-330TDC just in on consignment!
We had a '65 ES-330 quite similar to this guitar not too long ago - original finish, no breaks, and some cool electronics mods that included a set of humbuckers replacing the original P90s. Sacrilege? Maybe. We still think hot rodded vintage guitars like this are some of the best values going. And this long-necked '68 is a total blast.
The guitars original P90s gave way to humbuckers long ago, and eventually got a modern upgrade with a set of Throbak SLE101+ pickups. For those unfamiliar- they're some of the very best PAF-style pickups on the market. Along with a modern high quality wiring harness and ABR-1 bridge, the guitar is very nicely dialed in for playability and tone. It's just what a lot of working guitarists love - road-ready but without the collector-grade pricetag.
What's really nice about this 330 is that it almost presents as a 335, and even cops a little bit of that tone with the HBs. But the fully hollow constructions makes for a lighter instrument with an airier tonality that sits between both models, really.
This ES-330 is a very nice vintage-meets-modern piece at a great value that will satisfy players and vintage enthusiasts alike.
