We seemed to have hit the vintage ES-175 lottery as of late, with just spectacular examples of these lauded archtop electrics having come through almost in succession. The latest ES-175 to come through is certainly one of the cleanest you'll see in our shop...

Hailing from mid/late 1955, this Gibson ES-175D is in exceptional original condition, and just a perfect example of what has made these guitars so popular for the last 75 years. Lightweight, comfortable, with a great sounding set of original P90 pickups, jazzboxes of this quality and condition don't come along every day!

With the exception of a replaced yet period-styled Rosewood bridge, this guitar shows off all of its factory original features like a dynamic Sunburst finish, full C neck with original frets, borderline NOS condition Kluson 'no line' tuners with original buttons, and a great example of the earliest amber bonnet knobs introduced later in 1955. Some finish chipping at the base of the neck heel is about the only thing keeping this from qualifying as an under-the-bed guitar.

The aforementioned lightness of build is appreciated with the larger and deeper hollow body design, making it about as comfortable as you could imagine for one of these. A well balanced set of P90s deliver nice medium output that has bell-like clarity with a certain richness of tone that have long kept these as a top choice for jazz and blues players.

It's hard to imagine a cleaner ES-175D than this one that is as well matched in playability as it is looks.

Priced with original brown Lifton hardshell case.
