Gibson EB-2 Cherry 500114 (1968)
Semi-Hollow · Humbuckers Pickups · Vintage
Who doesn't love a good EB bass? And man oh man, this one is GREAT. A great semi-hollow acoustic voice and punchy short-scale feel with a powerful pickup that'll sweeten up with a little volume/tone adjustment. This is a total winner, folks!
Isn't it nice when a guitar this clean turns out to be a fantastic player?! Rapidly approaching its 60th birthday, it's a super nice and well maintained example. With the exception of the some pitting of the chrome plating on the (often missing) bridge cover, this is a very clean instrument that has been anything but abused. And how did it survive all these years in such great shape? Well we've got an equally clean hardshell case to thank for that! Black/Yellow EB cases don't necessarily grow on trees, either, making this a wonderful pairing for the vintage bass enthusiast who yearns for a Gibson EB and wants one with no excuses.
We're particularly fond of the neck on this EB, too. Round with a nice full carve, it offers a great balance of comfort and quickness that feels natural regardless of position. It's such a fun and rewarding bass to play!
