Fender Twin Reverb (USED, 1966)
Vintage
Clean tones are unmatched with Fender's 'Blackface' era Twin Reverb.
Why We Love This
King of Cleans! The almighty Fender Twin Reverb combines unbridled power with an incredible amount of headroom and clean tone, and has cemented itself in the "Mount Rushmore" of Fender amplifier design and tone. Used by countless musicians throughout the decades, it represents one of the very best in high-powered tube amplifier design.
This is a very sweet sounding example from 1966, featuring an original 'Blackface' circuit that's been recently serviced by our favorite local amp tech, Stan Day. The original speakers were replaced with some 1990s Mojo Tone M121660 12" 60 watt ceramic speakers that are nicely broken-in and pair well with the sparkly BF tone. The original speaker baffle was also replaced with a sturdy plywood baffle and repro grill cloth that maintains the proper vintage look and functionality.
With all of its original iron intact (output, power, and reverb transformers are all original to the amp with 1966 date codes), it performs exactly as it should, and reminds us of just how special these amps are.
