Description

We're thrilled to have a spectacular example of a 1950s Fender Tweed Pro in the shop on consignment!

These mid/late 50s Tweed Pros are heralded for their big, broad voice with classic midrange raunch and sweet top end, and this 1956 model is no exception. Following the original 5E5 Pro (known as a big brother to the 5E3), the later fixed-bias 5E5-A/B Pro is bigger and tighter sounding with a more musical sweep from lower volume cleans to more refined gained up tones when the amp is cooking. The 15" speaker shifts the frequency response a bit to give things a bit of a kick in the upper midrange as well.

This particular example comes from one of our most trusted customers who has been collecting premium vintage amplifiers for many years. The circuit remains original including all electrolytic and filter caps. The original tweed covering is in excellent shape with natural aging befitting of a 65 year old amp. While the original Jensen P15N speaker is included in the sale, it has been pulled out in favor of a modern Weber 15A125.

Ideal for players and collectors alike, this 1956 Tweed Pro would add some serious vibe and tone to your stable.
