Fender Telecaster Deluxe, Natural (1973)
T-Style · HH (2 Humbuckers) Pickups · Vintage
This first-year 1973 Fender Telecaster Deluxe in its original Natural finish delivers some seriously powerful tones thanks to the original Wide Range humbuckers
This 1973 Fender Telecaster Deluxe is one of the finer versions of the 70s classic, featuring a beautiful original Natural finish along with a pair of high output Seth Lover designed Wide Range humbucking pickups. The large Stratocaster-style headstock and rear-contoured body combine with a Telecaster shape and Gibson-esque electronics to yield a much different vibe than the guitars that came before it, yet there's no denying that it's very much a Telecaster. The string-through hardtail bridge, Ash body, and Maple neck are in keeping with the core of the original T design, but those pickups bring a different energy and are certainly more rock-leaning than the single coils that outfit the traditional model. This guitar has survived the mod-heavy 70s and 80s without so much as string changing, which is a rare feat in and of itself! Completely stock, from the Fender branded Schaller tuners to the pickups and wiring, down to the large pickguard and amplifier knobs.
The poly finish has aged quite gracefully, with just minor to lightly moderate signs of handling and play wear throughout. The pickups have loads of chime with great fatness that surrounds each note - this guitar sounds fantastic with just a touch of gain or hair either from a light overdrive or an amp that's just starting to break up.
Includes original Fender hardshell case.
