1982 Fender Telecaster in original Cherry Sunburst finish just into the shop!
This Telecaster is an excellent condition example of what became the end of the original Fullerton run for the iconic model. With the exception of the lesser common Cherry Sunburst finish, this Ash-bodied Telecaster carries much of the CBS-Era spec with it, like the veneer Rosewood fingerboard with pearl dots, large 70s decal, F Stamp tuners, and 3-ply pickguard along with a polyurethane finish.
Coming in just under 8lbs, it skirts the heavier Teles often found during this period and feels very comfortable both seated and strapped. The neck is a slim-taper V/C hybrid, with lean shoulders that make it quite fast-playing. The 7.25" radius and vintage sized fretwire make it feel and play more like a 60s Tele than a modern version, too.
All the sparkle and twang you'd want is there, but it's still got warmth in all positions. The pickups are very well balanced and complementary, and the modern wiring feels right at home.
As previously mentioned, this guitar is in really great condition, with just a few small finish nicks, dings, and scuffs throughout. The hardware is all very clean with little patina, and the original frets still show plenty of life. The original black hardshell case is also in excellent condition and fully functional.
