The spiral design also resists the twisting, kinking, and "physical memory" that turn a cheap cable into a tangled mess at the bottom of a gig bag. These coil cleanly and lie flat.
Outside, an 8mm PVC jacket stands up to foot traffic, rolling equipment, and the general wear of a working environment. Nickel-plated connectors are heat-resistant and built for repeated plugging and unplugging - the kind of detail that matters more in the studio than people expect.
