This 1965 Fender Precision Bass is just one of those instruments that you know has "it" when you first pick it up.
Finished off in the Summer of 1965 soon after CBS took control of Fender, this P-Bass shows all the signs of a well-loved instrument that's stood the test of time. While its specs are considered standard, its tone is anything but. At a few ounces shy of 9lbs, this is a total powerhouse of a bass; highly resonant with great acoustics, it really draws you in and keeps you playing.
The original split-coil pickup is right in that sweet spot of output where you have plenty of low end punch and presence without it being too overpowering or punishing the preamp of your favorite bass rig. With the tone wide open, notes are clear with some nice natural cut in the upper midrange. Roll that tone back and you're comfortably into more of that laidback Jamerson feel and sound - warm, full, and round without compromising definition.
Sunburst. Tortoise guard. Rosewood fingerboard. It's the definition of P-Bass, and never goes out of style.
Condition: Very Good+. Signs of natural play wear throughout. Some cable rash on the back of the body from contact in the case, with some attempts by its former longtime owner to clean it up. Original 4-ply guard is crack-free. Natural patina on the original tuners, knobs, and bridge.
