This 1967 Fender Mustang got the 70s 'Au Naturale' treatment with the original finish stripped off in favor of a clear-coat look, but has remained structurally and electronically complete as it was in 1967. Featuring its original pots, pickups, and pearloid guard complete with original hardware throughout, it's a great player-grade CBS era Fender that represents the short scale solidbody quite well.
Currently strung up with a set of 11-49 strings, it's got some nice resonance and acoustic volume, with a slightly more taut feel that translates into a slightly more robust electric tone with some added tuning stability. The original Mustang pickups have nice output that creep into Strat-like territory, with a bold fundamental response. The recently replaced pickup toggles work great, offering out-of-phase tones and full pickup muting. The original neck feels great in hand with a slim C neck and well-dressed original vintage frets.
On the hunt for a great Mustang that won't break the bank? This is a fantastic example that's ready for action.
