Early 1967 Fender Jazzmaster just into the the shop featuring a rare custom color Blonde finish!

Of all the Blonde-finished Fenders to run into, offsets seem to be the most seldom. Teles typically rule the roost in that regard, followed by Strats. But Jazzmasters and Jaguars- particularly in the CBS Era - frankly don't come along in Blonde. You can sometimes find early 60s examples, but still... uncommon.

Glance through the photos of this '67 and you'll probably wonder why it didn't happen more often! This Jazzmaster looks absolutely stellar with the blonde finish, especially in a production year that featured a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl block inlays. In combination with the celluloid tortoise pickguard, it's a special kind of aesthetic. This JM has held up quite well over the years, with just a bit of electronics work and a refret to bring attention to. The pickups look to have been repaired or rewound at some point along the way, with evidence of resoldering at the bobbin eyelets. The wire is correct enamel, though, so it may be a case of a minor repair. The pickups sound exactly as you'd expect them to, with loads of clarity and a sharp fundamental attack that blooms wonderfully. There's a short section of cloth wire that's been replaced in between the volume and tone controls, and the toggle switch has been replace. Otherwise, the rhythm circuit remains true to factory form.

The refret is welcome here, as many original Fenders from this period had smaller fretwire that is often worn out by the time they find their way here. The work was very well done, and the profile of the frets aligns quite closely with vintage spec. A new bone nut was cut as well. Setup and playability are excellent!

The guitar ships with its longtime companion of which is an era-correct Fender hardshell, likely from 1965 or thereabouts due to the lack of logo. Expedited Shipping Required.
