We think this might be the best non-Custom Shop Strat Fender makes - and have felt that way since its release in the mid-2000s.
Known for his incredible technique, unique tone, song-writing chops, and for being a stickler for detail, you can bet Eric Johnson's signature model Strat is going to be amazing (spoiler: it is).
Eric worked hard to deliver a stellar instrument for his fans it shows...and feels....and sounds it. Alder body, one piece maple neck, 12" radius, custom spec'd pickups...relatively standard stuff until you start looking into the details (again, an area Eric is legendary for)...
Staggered vintage-style tuners; no string tree on the headstock; deep 1957-style body contours and cavities; one-piece vintage-tint quartersawn maple neck (contours sanded very smooth) with a ’57-style “soft V” neck carve; specially voiced Eric Johnson single-coil pickups with countersunk screws; vintage-style tremolo with silver-painted block; ’57-style string recess; no paint between base plate and block; five springs (no tremolo cover)...
All of this attention to details rolls into one hell of a cool Strat. Resonant, lively, fantastic tones. This is a great example of a guitar punching above its bracket, so to speak. Simply a fantastic Stratocaster that's sure to make any Strat-lover happy.
