Whether it’s a sweaty club set or a living room jam, this Tele feels like it’s already lived a hundred gigs - worn in, dialed in, and ready to deliver.
Part of the Fender Custom Shop Time Machine Series, this heavily relic'd '61 Telecaster is all about capturing the mojo of a well-loved original, complete with decades of road wear and the unmistakable feel of a guitar that’s been played hard and often. The Heavy Relic finish does the storytelling for you: it’s bold but tasteful, with lacquer checking, finish wear, and aged hardware that makes it feel instantly familiar.
The body is a 2-piece, offset-seam roasted alder slab finished in nitro for maximum resonance and a classic vintage look. The quartersawn maple neck is carved to a comfortable mid-’60s Oval “C” profile, topped with a striking 3A rosewood fingerboard and vintage-spec Jescar frets. It’s the kind of neck that makes you want to keep playing - warm, broken-in, and fast under the fingers.
Under the hood, you’ll find a set of Custom Shop Hand-Wound '63 Tele pickups, bringing that unmistakable Fender snap and shimmer. Paired with vintage-style '63 Tele wiring and a 3-way switch, you’ve got access to the classic tones that made the Tele a studio and stage staple - spanky, punchy, and clear, with just enough attitude.
Additional appointments include a 9.5" radius for easier bending, 3-ply parchment guard, vintage-style tuners, a bone nut, threaded steel saddles, and the signature American Vintage string tree. It ships with a deluxe hardshell case, strap, and Certificate of Authenticity.
